"Message from President of FACS"
10th Asian Chemical Congress and 8th Eurasia will be held at Hanoi, Vietnam 21-24 October 2003

The situation regarding SARS Virus has improved dramatically. I am able to advise that the 10th Asian Chemical Congress and 8th Eurasia will be held at Hanoi, Vietnam 21-24 October 2003.

As of 14 July, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has advised that it will no longer publish a daily table of the cumulative number of reported probable cases of SARS. Review of cases is ongoing and, in some countries/areas, the final outcome of probable cases is still unfolding. The WHO continues to consolidate global surveillance data for the outbreak period, 1 November to 5 July 2003 and will publish these findings on this site. Situation updates will be issued should any change in the present SARS situation occur. Refer to http://www.who.int/csr/sars/en/ A report on Vietnam is given at http://www.who.int/csr/sars/epicurve/epiindex/en/index8.html which shows that cases of SARS have been absent in Vietnam since mid-April 2003.
