Your comments to FACS
Welcome from the President of FACS

On behalf of the Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS), I would like to welcome you to the FACS website. FACS is a federation of 27 chemical societies from Asia Pacific. The main objective of FACS is to promote the advancement of chemistry and the professional interest of chemists in Asia In this aspect, we are very actively involved in promoting research and development in chemistry in the Asia Pacific.

FACS organizes the biennial Asian Chemical Congress (ACC) hosted by a member society. ACC always gets good response from scientists from all over the world. At the last 12th Asian Chemical Congress (12ACC) held in Kuala Lumpur in August 2007, a total of 1,688 delegates from 52 countries participated. It shows the extensive amount of research and development being done by scientists all over the Asia Pacific.

FACS will like to invite national chemical societies from the Asia Pacific to join us. Asia is becoming a major economic block in the near future, rivaling North America and European Union. In order to sustain this rapid economic development, there must be parallel development in science, technology and innovation. FACS will have to play a key role in advancing chemistry in the Asia Pacific. With active participation from chemical societies from this region, we can work closely together to carry out advanced research and develop cutting-edge technologies and innovations.

We welcome comments and inputs from fellow scientists. FACS will like to play a major role in the sustainable development of the region and elevating the quality of life. With the cooperation and support of all scientists in Asia Pacific, we can sure that FACS can play a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the world.
