Scientific Programs Aim of Symposium The aim of the UNESCO Regional Symposium on Chemistry of Medicinal Plants, March 17-19, 2000 is to provide a forum for presentations and discussions of the latest advances in the field of Natural Products Chemistry in order to promote interaction and cooperation in the scientific search for new bioactive compounds from medicinal plants. Topic of the Symposium Presentations and contributions from the following sections are welcome:
Date and Place The symposium will be held in Dianchi Garden Hotel & Spa (滇池温泉花园酒店), 10 minutes by car to downtown Kunming, from Friday, March 17 to Sunday, March 19, 2000. SCIENTIFIC SESSION There will be invited lectures (25-minute speech + 5-minute discussion), oral presentations (15-minute speech + 5-minute discussion), and poster presentations. On-site Registration The registration desk at the Symposium will be open in the lobby of Dianchi Garden Hotel & Spa (滇池温泉花园酒店) on: Thursday, March 16, 2000 2:00-10:00pm Friday, March 17, 2000 8:30-12:00am Saturday, March 18, 2000 8:30-12:00am The registration fees, $500 for oversea participants and $250 for students include admission to all technical sessions, the reception on March 17, all meals and banquets during the Symposium, the receipt of the program booklet together with the collective abstracts of all papers, and accommodations for four nights. Accompanying persons of invited speakers and Advisory Committee members, and who paid registration fees ($250 after September 30, 1999) will have access to the items above except for Symposium technical sessions. Technical Information Slides and Overhead Projectors Slide and overhead projectors will be available. Speakers having special audiovisual requirements are asked to contact the Symposium Secretariat at least two weeks before the Symposium, please. Posters Contributors will be allocated a panel for their poster presentations. The maximum size for a poster is 110cm by 110cm. General Information Official Language Presentations and publications will be given in English. VISA Visa to people’s Republic of China is obtained from the concerned consulates. Applicants are suggested to submit their visa applications three months before the date of entry into P. R. China. Letters of Invitaion On request the Symposium Chair will be delighted to send a personal invitation for participation in the Symposium. ACCESS TO Dianchi Graden Hotel & Spa Reception desks will be open at Train Station and Kunming Airport on Thursday, March 16, 2000. Participants who arrive in Kunming earlier or later than March 16 please take Taxi to Dianchi Garden Hotel and Spa.
